Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves students in grades TK-5 and strives to provide rigorous academics and a safe learning environment. Our teachers work tirelessly to prepare our students to be successful beyond our walls and as part of our larger community.
Despite the many challenges my students face outside of school as well as within, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students like to wiggle and dance, to learn about the world they live in, have hands-on explorations, and they love positive attention. Many of them are from low-income households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with access to the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the first day of school, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their lives outside our campus, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire these early learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

The supplies that I am requesting will help me and my students start the new school year with everything we need to begin our year of learning together.
Having all the supplies we will need, takes the stress off of returning to school, meeting new people, and learning new things.
All the supplies requested will fill their desks and our shared spaces to enable all of to explore, be creative, and dive deep into our learning.
