This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds from inner city Philadelphia. My students are super hard working and motivated to learn all the time. They absolutely love hands-on activities, reading and any project that allows them to be challenged and be creative, and they have so much potential to be awesome readers and mathematicians. I am hoping that with a little extra push they will all be successful and remember their first grade class as the best class they ever had.
My Project
My students are such awesome first graders, but they are super hard on supplies. Glue sticks seem to just disappear. We go through so many and definitely need a new class set. We are always being creative, so cool colored pens and paper are always needed. You must make everything pretty in first grade right? I want my kids to be able to do activities without having to search their desks and book bags for supplies. I’d just love to have these on the tables for them. We would get so much more done so much quicker with class sets
