This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title One school in Pennsylvania and all receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical, inner-city school. Most face serious obstacles before they even walk through the doors in the morning. Our goal is to make our school a safe and loving environment.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and different countries.
This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
It is so important to have the basic supplies like pencils, crayons and paper to just function in class every day. In my classroom we do so many hands on activities that require items like whiteboards and laminators. I love taking their amazing work and laminating it for them so we can display their work.
I want my students to know that they do not have to be stressed or embarrassed for not having the supplies they need for class, that they will be provided for.
I keep a supply station and these students can go get whatever they need from glue to pencils or paper.
