This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work in an inner city school with a very diverse population. Most of the students live in the neighborhood; yet, some are middle class and others are homeless. Regardless of their home lives, they all come to school every day, eager to learn something new. I am so lucky to work where I do.
Every challenge I've given them, they've not only met, but they have easily surpassed each and everything I’ve asked of them.
We celebrate all our successes however small they may be.
My Project
All of our students love to read, write, and draw. Unfortunately, we are not given any writing or drawing supplies nor even extra pencils for them to work with. We are in desperate need of pencils, markers, and pens.
Having your support will allow my students to get the chance to not only enjoy their classroom time, but also extend their learning through wonderful writing and drawing activities.
These resources will allow the students to show how proud and excited they are about their work and continue to keep them working hard all year long. My goal is to have my classroom be the place they want to come to.
