This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
When you enter our band room, you're going to be overwhelmed by bright-eyed, bushy-tailed students who are eager to learn about music.
Our community is extremely diverse both culturally and economically.
Yet, some students are unable to afford their own band instruments and supportive equipment. However, all of our students are always appreciative of whatever assistance they receive in order to participate in their music program. These students are just wonderful to teach.
My Project
I currently teach over 200 band students. Not all come to school with the supplies needed to be successful. I pride myself on being able to help facilitate supply acquisition regardless of why my students come unprepared.
With your support, each of the students in my class will benefit.
Whether it's a double-reed student who's forgotten to get new reeds or a new student who has to quickly get caught up in our curriculum. I want all students to have the same opportunities to be successful. And each of my students displays their appreciation for your assistance.
