My Students

Our students are incredibly creative and innovative. They continually raise the bar with their ownership of learning and bravery to try new things. Our elementary school is a special place; as the only district in the state without a racial majority, we celebrate the diversity of our classrooms by affirming our variety of cultures, languages, and learning styles. Though many of our students live in poverty, their resiliency speaks volumes about their capability and agency to change their community!

My students deserve to experience all the world has to offer; they deserve to be heard.

They benefit from being able to create, explore, and collaborate with others. We build community and character through rich experiences and support all learners, even when faced with low funding.

My Project

It is hard to imagine that it is time to start thinking about next school year, but as we reach the halfway mark, it is overwhelmingly obvious to me that we need supplies! Each year, the families in my district struggle to provide basic school supplies for their children. It is a burden on our low income families and many students are left without or without enough. There are never enough supplies to go around and certainly not enough to last us the entire school year.

It is my hope, that with your help, the burden can be lessened for the parents and myself as we struggle to provide adequate supplies for the students.

Your donation will ensure that we have enough supplies for a happy and healthy school year. Items like pencils, glue and paper seem simple enough, but you cannot imagine how difficult learning is without these supplies. There's nothing worse than planning the perfect lesson only to get ready to begin and hear the words, "I don't have a pencil!" These tools are necessary for productive students to grow into life long learners.
