Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. More than half of my students come from low income households.
One third of my class is made up of students who receive special education services.
Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school everyday eager to learn. Our school serves students in grades K-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. A goal of mine is to provide my students with a safe and exciting classroom.
My Project
My classroom is in need of much needed supplies to get this new school year started off right. My students need labels so that all of their folders, notebooks, etc. can be labeled for them. We also need pencils and dry erase markers so that my students can show off how much they have learned by writing their knowledge down. Lamination paper is needed in order to laminate personalized charts for students to keep all year. My students also need glue sticks in order to paste work in their notebooks and for art projects. All of these simple supplies are needed for my students to have a successful school year!
