Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students LOVE using whiteboard markers. We use them all the time during math and language arts. These help me, as the teacher, to assess the students learning with a quick look at the whiteboards.
My students are an amazing group of 5th graders.
I have 9 different native languages in my classroom and assessing them needs to be an instant activity. They are from a high poverty area and items like whiteboard markers and rare luxury. I love how my students appreciate everything they are given that they get to use to enhance their education. Life is good when my students love to learn! They are wonderful learners and wonderful young adults just looking for tools to enhance their education.
My Project
These whiteboard markers will be used to assess learning. I use them to quickly assess what my student know and what they need to understand the task at hand. Fractions are hard but for some reason using a whiteboard and marker makes it a little easier and little more fun! We also use our whiteboard and marker during language arts when we read stories as a whole class. We use them to predict, ask questions and summarize what we've read!
Learning is hard when you don't have the right materials.
Learning is hard when you are 10 turning 11 and you are thinking about where your next meal might come from. But for some reason, having whiteboard markers make things a little easier...! Since my students can not afford to furnish their own supplies, it is my responsibility to supply them. This donation will take a little pressure of me while increasing the love of learning!
