Mrs. Foulkrod from Eastpointe MI is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students the basic school supplies they need for next year, such as notebooks, folders, glue sticks, pencils, and highlighters.

Our star students consist of third, fourth, and fifth graders. They all are unique and individual, with their own set of needs. We try to inspire them every day and to help them to see that they can be successful. We see the best in our students. We strive to bring them to their full potential while they attend our school.
We believe our students can all achieve if we give them the support they need.
We teach in a Title I district, which means a majority of our students come from low-income families. They face many challenges day-to-day. Their family's income does not define who they are. They are who they choose to be. I hope when they move on to another school that they know how special they are to us and that they remember that they are responsible for their future. We want to see them flourish.
By supplying our students with the basic necessities for the upcoming school year, they are able to focus on their education. Every pencil, piece of paper, and highlighter will be utilized in every classroom in our school. They will not be stored away or collecting dust in a closet.
The requested supplies will be pencils for writing poetry, glue sticks for gluing art projects, and folders to organizing schoolwork, just to name a few.
Without these items, students have a difficult time turning in their work because they have no tools to help them to complete the tasks at hand. I've seen students in the classroom without the supplies they needed. After a while, they usually become very unproductive because if they cannot find what they need from classmates, and tend to give up.
I want to see our students succeed, but I know we need supplies to achieve our goals. Please help us get the supplies our students need for a productive school year!
