This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a high poverty, Title One school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I try my best to provide my students with a warm and welcoming classroom environment. Many of my students are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. The students do not have the extra learning support at home like many other children. I would like to provide my class with the resources they need to become successful In life at an early age.
My Project
My students need games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and writing materials to explore with at Learning Center time. Our students will use these materials to explore their ability through drawing, making letters and sounds, and then words! These activities will be used during Learning Center times throughout the day as we read and write while learning together. The paper, cardstock and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may create books and other classroom crafts. I need chargers and power strips to charge the iPads for my students to use during centers. I need hand sanitizer to down the spread of germs in the classroom during flu season. All of the supplies ordered will help with the learning growth of the students.
