Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine being excited to learn, but lacking the basic supplies to do your assignments. That is what many students face. So, to make sure all of the students in my class have proper materials for school, I would like to provide them with basic school supplies.
My students are a great bunch of fifth-grade children.
They come from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The students from my class come from low-income households that cannot always afford the materials they need to learn at school. All of them love learning and are excited to find out new things. All of the students in my class live in the historic, culturally diverse neighborhood around our school. This is a highly successful Public Family school that parents choose over other district schools due the academic and personal growth our students achieve on a yearly basis. Children in grades kindergarten through eighth grade attend our school.
My Project
These resources will be used every day by the students. The blank books will be used for their reading and math work. The pencil sharpeners will keep pencils ready for learning at all times. The students will be able to learn organizational skills by having color-coded blank books. The colored pencils, scissors, and dry erase markers that the students us are tools for their lessons and projects. This will help them to have their materials on hand. Giving the students basic supplies will ensure that all of the students in my class have an equal start and have the supplies and materials that they need to learn to the best of their abilities.
These materials will improve my classroom by giving the students the basic tools they need to complete their school assignments.
