Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are wonderful, active learners who challenge themselves every day. They show me hard work in reading, math, science, and social studies. My students love researching science topics such as solar power, clean energy, and the environment. We have already learned about how plastic drinking straws end up in the oceans. We have learned how wind and solar energy can be converted into power for us. We have built models of machines like the Archimedes Screw.
They are deepening their knowledge every day by teaching each other and not giving up on difficult problems.
I love to see their faces light up when they have struggled with a problem and finally solved it. Many of my students do not have basic school supplies like pencils and dry erase markers. Pencils keep our classroom running smoothly. Dry erase markers are important to help us solve math problems successfully.
My Project
My students are hard workers and need more supplies to keep going strong this year. The pencils will help us do our best in all subjects. The dry erase markers will keep our math time focused. The students use dry erase boards and markers to solve problems on. The markers we have are almost gone from our hard work. These markers will bring success back to our math time. The glue is important to our art projects. We will use some of it to mix and make foam paint. The rest is important to mount our artwork on backing and keep it nice.
These school supplies will help us finish the year strong.
