My students come to me for small group reading intervention. They are social and inquisitive learners who come from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students work hard each day to improve their reading skills.
They are always eager to visit the reading intervention classroom because the lessons are specifically designed to meet their learning needs. This time away from the regular classroom allows my students time to practice their reading skills in a small group setting. It is during this time that my students gain the most confidence in reading.
My students learn the best through hands-on activities, technology, games, and high interest reading materials. When confidence is gained, possibilities are endless! It is my hope that each student finds a love for reading!
My Project
The materials that I have requested include mechanical pencils, colored paper, laminating sheets, file folders and glue. These materials will be used throughout the year.
It would be amazing if our class had mechanical pencils because we are limited on time.
Each class session lasts 30 minutes. Having mechanical pencils would cut down on the time spent sharpening pencils. The colored paper and laminating sheets will be used to create task card activities.
Finally, file folders and glue would allow the students the opportunity to create lapbooks. These interactive reading folders will allow students to use their creative abilities to construct folders that will be used to review reading skills.
