My students need school supplies, such as crayons, pens, and markers to do projects in our classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I am a computer teacher in a low-income area. I have over 900 amazing students a week, 30 classes in a 6-day rotation with an average of 32 kids in each class. We have 29 computers to share, which means things are kind of tight! They are hard workers and love exploring the internet in a safe way.
My goal is to get some school suppies that are beneficial to our classroom.
Because I am a specials teacher, the things that we use in our classroom are not provided by the yearly school supply list.
My Project
We have just earned two Echo Dots for our classroom for our research projects in the computer lab! Unfortunately I do not have enough ink to print out projects of over 1,000 kids when we do them and we usually do two big projects a year.
We make tri-fold brochures so that they can record their research easily and that requires pencils, erasers, and markers.
These project not only helps them learn how to find things on their own, but how to record it on paper, and be proud of a project they have created. We have researched animals, different countries, states, and places they would like to visit over the summer. They love taking these home to show their parents so I want them to have all that they need to make it their very best. I have also asked for Clorox wipes because with over 1,000 kids touching the computers every day, sickness travels fast. I would like to be able to wipe down the keyboards between classes with something safe than waiting all day for the janitor to clean them at night. I also requested tissues and smiley face stickers. I use t he stickers to put on the mouse buttons to remind the kindergarten and 1st graders which button to push on the mouse. Specials classes are not included on the yearly school supply list, and our area was hit by Hurricane Harvey last year and parents are struggling to pay for regular school clothes and other things so right now I do not want to ask them for help at this time.
