My Students
Our school is a high poverty school with a diverse group learners! Many speak other languages besides English. Our school is a priority school, and we are trying to try new things to better engage our students for higher success. Engagement and rigor are our goals with each student. We work hard every single day for our students, but need some more support to help us go the extra mile for them without going totally in to our own pockets.
My Project
My students need multiple supplies right now in order to meet their full potential in my classroom. We use dry erase markers every day when doing math problems on the computer to show our work, so we don't waste paper and pencils. We also use them for quick checks as a whole group when I am seeing who knows what and who does not. Headphones are needed for my special ed and ELL (English Language Learners) who get read aloud accommodations. If they don't have headphones, they disrupt the rest of the group who do not receive read aloud accommodations. Colored pencils are huge part of my teaching process with color coding notes or parts of a problem for my students to more easily see. I have multiple visual learners who greatly benefit! All of these supplies are basics for our everyday success as learners in 6th grade and we would appreciate the help!
