Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 6th graders taking part in a new magnet academy whose goal is to promote global leaders and positive communication throughout the world. My students are also a part of a Title I school, so promoting communication to all parts of the world can open doors for them they may have previously not known. My goal is to always satisfy all of their needs and help them see beyond their own neighborhoods.
Obtaining items and concepts can help them see beyond their own world and to inspire their desire to meet new people, learn, and explore.
My students are capable of so much, and often the right type of teaching is required to activate their potential. I hope to give them that type of teaching and to give them a Social Studies experience that is engaging and relevant.
My Project
These materials will benefit my students and classroom due to the variety of content they can help support and how the materials can help my students access their learning. The pens and pencils are vital to students doing their work, and missing a writing utensil seems a horrid reason to miss out on learning. Being able to supply my students with basic writing needs is vital to the improvement of their learning. The clay is for a fun activity of students learning to write in ancient writing, and bringing history alive for them. The folder carrier and bins will better organize my classroom so students can get access to their notebooks quickly and efficiently while keeping their notebooks safe. Right now their notebooks have been being destroyed or going missing from where they're stored, so I'm hoping a new process will keep their work better intact.
This hodgepodge of supplies will allow for better learning opportunities for my students so they can access the learning and have fun at the same time!
Middle school students are continuously working on organization and management, so these supplies will my students build their skills and make strong and fun memories while in school.
