My students are small but mighty and have the biggest hearts of anyone! As the highest grade in the school (2nd to 6th grade) it is somewhat hard to find materials and spaces that are theirs and theirs alone.
Unfortunately, with living in such a small community, we have some of the problems that are commonly associated with students of those areas.
This means that for some of my students, the ability to get materials may be difficult.
In Waupun, we are a close-knit community, but over a third of our number come from low-income households. In addition, because it is a small community that is set away from large cities, it can be a challenge to gain real world understanding about topics may not be as accessible without traveling.
My Project
We need some basic classroom supplies to make it though the year. We need pencils, scissors, and construction paper for some projects later in the year. We also need dry erase markers, whiteboard cleaner, anchor chart paper, to help organize our learning.
These supplies would greatly help our community of learners and teach us the importance of not only learning through hands-on means, but also of the importance of organizing our learning.
We have interactive lessons that greatly depend on these supplies and our few resources left over from the previous year are running thin. Help us finish our year with fun activities to demonstrate our learning!
