Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our district is located in a very rural, but beautiful little county. Our students come from diverse backgrounds ranging from African-American, Asian, Caucasian, and Latino. As a Title 1 school we have limited resources and very little extra money. I love the school where I teach. We may be limited on resources, but I work with some of the best teachers, with the biggest hearts. My students are excited to learn and discover new things!
In order to have a successful learning environment, we first need the tools to create an atmosphere for our students to reach their maximum potential.
It is my hope that through the right materials and strategies, I can provide my students with a first-class education, even in a small rural town!
My Project
We need classroom supplies! I see around 50 kids a day, because I am not a homeroom teacher my students do not bring in supplies from the supply list to my classroom. Also, because funds are limited, we don't have a big supply room. The items I have asked for will be used in my room for various activities. I have to provide everything when they come to my class. The items we are requesting are construction paper, pencils, markers, crayons, colored pencils, chart paper, chart markers, tape, pencil sharpener and highlighters, which are all needed for my students to be successful.
