I love teaching middle school math at the school I am at, but many of our students are economically disadvantaged. The students are still motivated, however, and they come to school ready to learn! They are truly a joy to have in class!
Even though the students face challenges in their everyday life, they are excited and eager to learn.
I want a positive, colorful, safe place for my students to learn. I don't want my students to have to worry about having supplies they cannot afford. I want them to just be focused and ready to learn!
My Project
The 6th grade curriculum is based around decimals and fractions. Three of our essential standards revolve around basic decimal and fraction operations.
Having games, fun activities, and a printer to print out materials for the students to engage in will hopefully help motivate them to learn about fractions and decimals better!
The Fraction-Decimal Quizmo Game will be a fun way for students to learn about fractions and decimals. Keeping the students engaged in a game of Quizmo could be very beneficial.
The more resources I have on hand to help the students learn, the better! Students love fun, interactive games that will keep them engaged. I also want to offer the students the proper supplies for class. Having a pencil sharpener and erasers for the students on a daily basis is essential to class flow and productivity.
