My Students
I am a 5th grade teacher in rural Iowa. I have 10 very active grade boys and 11 energetic girls in my class this year.
My students love hands-on learning and they love to teach each other! A lot of my students come from very low income families. They can not afford the necessary supplies to get them through the school day. My students are also very low leveled and need as much hands-on assistance as they can get.
My Project
My students love to be in charge of their own learning. These materials will help students to be involved with their learning as well as the learning of others.
With a low teacher budget, it is hard for me to provide these materials to aid my students learning without paying out of pocket for these supplies.
We will use the white board supplies to work through math problems like the dreaded long division and fractions. A few of the classroom supplies will help us be able to learn in our classroom. We will use things like Post it notes in our guided reading groups.
