My students need magazine files to store supplies, dry erase markers, spiral notebooks, white out, pens, highlighters, snacks, and items for the treasure box.
I teach 4th grade at Title I school in Kentucky. At this school nearly 69% of families qualify for free-and-reduced services and find it difficult to send their children to school with the needed supplies. We have a very diverse group of students, not only culturally but also academically.
Our students love coming to school every day and are eager to learn.
I would love to have a well stocked classroom so that my focus can be on providing an exceptional education, while the focus of my students can be on learning.
My Project
The supplies I've requested will help to motivate and engage students in learning. Students will love to write in their new spiral notebooks with bright colored gel pens. Responding to reading and writing assignments will be brought to a new level.
The post-it notes and highlighters will help students interact with our text and articles we are reading.
My students get hungry mid day and many are unable to bring extra food to school. The snacks I've requested will keep them going throughout the day.
Knowing the treasure box is full of rewards for good behavior will keep them motivated and on-task.
