Students are antsy when they are in the same spot for several hours. I wish to create an environment that the kids can focus on learning to excel in life. Sitting on hard chairs can lose the students' focus. It is my duty and pleasure to meet their need academically and kinetically.
My 3rd graders live in a high-needs inner-city community.
They should have hands-on materials for all subjects accessible for them in the classroom; they deserve it. However, the environment/community they reside in does not enforce the dream of being THE BEST YOU CAN BE. My students look to me to give them the experiences that they see on television. Having a quality education to become productive citizens of America can be difficult when you lack basic materials.
My Project
My students will use the pencil and folders for everyday assignments. Folders will keep the students' papers in order instead of being balled up in their desks. We will keep our room clean and tidy with a dust pan. The wipes and hand sanitizer will help them keep their desks and hands clean. This year, my students will type their published work for display via our printer. The ink would allow them to print for display in color. The laminator will be used for vocabulary and other subject terms to decrease wore and tore.
It is not fair that my students have to wait for the district to accommodate their needs.
