My students at our school in Jersey City come from a variety of backgrounds. We also have many different cultures as well. Our students come from India, Korea, Russia and China just to name a few. We get kids from the shelter as well as from penthouse apartments. They all do very well in school. They love to learn and all of them participate on a daily basis. On top of that, they are happy children who love to come to school.
My Project
My classes have been so fortunate to receive such generous donations from so many caring people on this site over the years. This year, we need some much needed supplies to help us in our day to day learning and playing. I have picked out some items that I know will benefit the children's school days for this year and many years to come. With your support, I know we can help make the children's kindergarten experience a perfect start to a successful academic career.
The donations my class has received in the past have made it possible for us to have a Chromebook for every child, plus a charging cart to store them all in.
This year, I would like to try and get a mouse for each child's Chromebook. They are finding it difficult to use their finger to click and drag during our computer time. I know having a mouse hooked up to the computer will help them to better navigate the educational websites we utilize.
The dividers will be used when we take tests. The balls will be used on the playground. We do not have a swing set or slide so instead of the kids chasing each other on concrete, to have balls to play with would really make their recess time extra special. I need a bag to carry all the balls back and forth.
I know it's a hodgepodge of different materials, but it would really help to make a difference in the children's school day to have these extra supplies. I know I can count on your support and generosity to help make this kindergarten year a fantastic one for the children of room 102.
