This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very diverse, from many different countries, cultures and backgrounds. They love to learn and are interested in so many things from space, to bike riding to fairytales. They love to experience things hands-on, but that can be difficult in a school and district with limited resources.
The school is the largest elementary school in the district and although the administration really helps out, it is hard to have enough money to provide all of the resources that the students need.
Many of my students are English Language Learners, so they need a variety of differentiated materials to provide the instruction that they need.
My Project
These supplies will help my students with white board work because we are constantly using dry erase markers. The printer ink will allow me to print out materials for learning. The trays will help us organize and store our supplies at tables. The book display will allow me to display the unit books that we are studying all in one place, so they are easily accessible. The hooks will help display anchor charts and other items around the room. All of these things will help my students to participate, engage and interact with each other, the curriculum materials and the classroom environment as a whole.
