Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have anywhere between thirty-six to forty students who love learning! We are starting our dual language program for the first time and want to have a successful year. We are in a low-income district with parents who work day and night to support their families. The new Common Core Standards are expecting students to stay focused and work to their highest potential.
Our students come to school eager to learn each and every day.
They enjoy small-group instruction and they love learning centers! They struggle with the Common Core curriculum. They look forward to group activities and they love technology! They put forth a tremendous effort each and every day.
My Project
Our students can succeed with materials to help keep them organized and allow them to be creative! Students will use the primary composition books to write narrative, informational and opinion pieces throughout the year. These books allow students the space to draw detailed pictures and write all about them!
Students will succeed with useful tools to enhance their learning!
Chart paper will be used to display student responses, anchor charts, group presentations and much more. Sentence strips will be used for labeling and displaying standards and learning objectives. Trays with matching lids will hold fun interactive games aligned with the skills and standards for the week. The student name tags will be helpful on field trips, to hold lunch ID numbers and computer log-in information.
