This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are respectful, hardworking, and deserving of a great classroom experience despite the negative critiques from surrounding cities. They come from a highly diverse but lower socioeconomic area. Students at DVHS yearn for real-world job skills and certifications preparing them for their college experience and career.
These supplies will help with my students' lesson plan creation for our onsite preschool beginning in January.
My students help run a preschool onsite at DVHS for children ages 3 to 5 living in the community. Every day, they excel at creating lesson plans, learning how to observe and assess children, and having great, positive interactions with the children.
My Project
These materials include storage devices for our preschool materials as well as a math activity set for the preschoolers. We do not have many devices to store preschool materials, and as a result, some end up lost or damaged. We also are still trying to enhance our STEM-related activities for the preschool.
My high schoolers will begin running this preschool in January and so having storage bins will allow us to be organized and more ready for when the preschool begins.
The extra math activity will be utilized by the high schoolers in working with their individual buddies in the program.
