This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school that supplies every child with breakfast and lunch daily. It serves a diverse population, with students from all socioeconomic, military, special needs, and cultural backgrounds. It is a great place to teach!
This year I have the most amazing group of kindergarten students, and I am blessed to be their teacher!
They are loving, kind, thoughtful, smart, and hardworking! They make my days bright and cheerful! They always surprise me with sweet cards, beautiful pictures, and hugs of love, especially on those days that I need it! My kinders shower me with love and affection, and always want to be my side, even after the day is done! They melt my heart each and every day!
In our classroom, we practice kindness. I love seeing my kinders hugging, supporting and encouraging each other! When someone sheds a tear, there are 10 students grabbing a tissue and hugging him/her to make him/her feel better! When I think of these moments, it is very hard not to get emotional. My kids truly are the sweetest, kindest, little people I have ever met! Thank you for supporting these amazing students!
My Project
The upcoming school year is upon us, and I need to get ready for my incoming scholars! I am working on lesson plans, creating small group activities, and welcome to kindergarten packets! I love to get ready for a new year! As I prepare for my students' learning, I also need to prepare for the supplies that they will need. Being a title I school, I have many students who struggle to bring in their supplies.
To make things easier on my parents this year, I am requesting supplies for the new year.
At the end of year last year, my poor pencil sharpener stopped working. It was the saddest day of the year, as I loved my pencil sharpener. I am requesting a new classroom pencil sharpener to replace my beloved one. I am also requesting primary composition notebooks to use for our writing journals. Writing is an important part of kindergarten, and these journals are perfect for what we need. We also need new scissors, crayons, and expo markers to keep the learning going! The dry erase magnetic boards and erasers will help my scholars with writing, word work, and math. They will be an integral part of our learning each day! My goal is to supply my students with the tools they will need to be successful!
To my future donors, I thank you for supporting our kindergarten classroom, and for giving my scholars what they need to have an amazing year!
