My students need everyday school supplies to aid in their learning experience. Students need tools to learn. WE need paper, markers and more.

My Students
How many students want to be in a classroom where they experience a hands-on approach for every concept they are being taught? I know I would! I want my students to have that experience each and every day they enter my classroom. My scientists, mathematicians, journalists, graphic designers, and engineers deserve that and so much more! One way to achieve this, is to provide my students with everyday school supplies to make learning more interesting.
I teach 59 of the brightest, most amazing third graders ever!
Many of my students receive free or reduced price lunches. I have gifted students, students with IEP's, extremely active students, shy students, funny students, serious students, students with supportive parents, students with little parental support at home, students who are sweet, and students who call me "Mom"!
There are many differences among my students but one thing they have in common is their love of learning. They love learning and I love them! In my 14th year of teaching, I have found that students learn more when they are actually involved and actively engaged in their learning process.
My Project
School supplies help students engage in lessons. Projects in school can translate into better lives for families. A student can learn to use a pencil and paper to manage finances and plan for new sources of income. Education and its resources encourage a lifetime of problem-solving for young learners. For example, glue sticks are an essential tool for hands-on learning. These are extremely hard for students to share if a whole classroom is working on a project that requires a glue stick. Having the ability to supply an entire class with glue sticks makes learning and creating more efficient. Colored markers aid and spark a child’s creativity and imagination. When equipped with colored markers a child can have the ability to become more focused and improve concentration in the task at hand.
File folders are helpful to put homework assignments as well as other important papers in, so they are not lost.
Having file folders help keep students more organized and less likely to lose important papers they need to complete to succeed in and outside of the classroom. Pencils are one of the items we need most of. They are depleted the quickest; therefore us teachers appreciate as many pencils as we can get for our students.
Teaching is the only job you'll steal supplies from home to take to work.
