As a teacher in a low-income and high poverty school district, I want to provide my 28 students with many learning opportunities. Our school is a public school that houses grades first through eighth, right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
We are located in a Title I school, and 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students thrive when given attention and positive reinforcement. They are energetic, curious, and motivated to learn and soak up all the information surrounding them.
This project will help to enhance the school year by supplying students with basic necessities needed for a successful school year. Our classroom in is need of working pencil sharpeners and pencils. We use pencils all day to get our work complete and having accessible sharpeners will greatly help us.
By supplying students with the essentials they need, their motivation and stamina for learning will increase.
We are two months into the school year and we already have students with missing supplies or broken supplies. We are in need of folders and extra binders. Also, our classroom needs white boards so we can use them for whole group and small group instruction.
