My students are from a mixed SES from high to low, many of the students come from families of hard working parents that have very busy schedules. Because their parents schedules can be very demanding there isn't always time to buy school supplies that are needed. At the start of the school year I ask for many supplies and this project will help some students who cannot afford to get those supplies for various reasons. Anything will help us succeed.
My Project
These items are just a few supplies that I normally buy out of pocket to start the school year off. The school supplies that I have listed are basic supplies that will help my students be successful throughout the year. Items like pencils and colored pencils are used daily to enrich each lesson. The folders will help students stay organized when I pass papers back, they will always know where their completed work is located. All the supplies will be directly used by the students every day. Please help me start the school year off with what my students need. The easel pad will be used to discuss information when students are working in groups or when we do a gallery walk around the classroom. Allowing students to share their ideas and offer advice to others is a skill that all students need. Each day in class my students will use their interactive notebook to show how they are learning new content. I also work hard to make my lessons engaging by giving students hands on activities to complete, these materials will ensure that I have all materials ready for the first day of school. As an educator my main goal is to make sure I am equipped with the tools to offer the best education! I will use the notebook so students can always refer to what they learned before taking an assessment. When we work on card sorts I will use the card stock of different colors to make reviewing more interactive.Thanks for your help.
