Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 25 amazing, talented first graders. First graders focus on learning foundational skills and putting them into context. They are ready and eager to learn. These 6 and 7-year-olds thrive on new knowledge to support their success.
Our school has roughly 65% of the students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
This makes it difficult to ask for and receive classroom donations from students and their families. With the items that I have requested, my students will have the ability to learn at their fingertips.
My Project
Throughout our school year we do many, many projects that correlate with other subjects we are learning. In the Fall, we draw and watercolor scarecrows and pumpkins. In the Winter, we make a Patriotic book that includes many different projects about American Symbols that use LOTS of construction paper. In the Spring we make paper mache globes and paint them to look like the Earth.
Your donation will help on so many levels.
Not only will my students be creating amazing projects, they will be practicing fine motor skills and creativity. My students will be forever grateful for allowing us the opportunity to create projects that correlate with our Language Arts, Science and Social Studies skills. Thank you so much in advance for your care, concern, and generosity.
