Words cannot describe how excited I am to have my first classroom! Due to the fact this is my first year teaching, I am trying to grow and expand my resources!
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
My school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the city, where students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Every day, I make sure to welcome my students with a smile on my face and in return, they exchange a smile back, ready to learn and succeed. Despite many hardships my students may face, they are eager and put in their best effort. They know that our classroom is never about a perfect outcome; it is instead about the risks and effort put forth. My students certainly deserve a successful and engaging classroom where they can become lifelong learners.
My Project
Dear DonorsChoose,
I am hoping to receive new supplies for this upcoming school year.
I am hoping to receive a variety of notebooks as well as folders which are color coordinated. The colors will help students distinguish which academic area the folders will be used for. Also, I am hoping to receive name tags for desks. In addition, I am hoping to receive pencils, colored pencils, and crayons to give to the students at the beginning of the year, so they can complete their academic work.
