Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are primary age special education students who attend a neighborhood school in an urban community. They are curious and inquisitive learners who are emerging in all areas, from academic and social skills to speech and language development. They come to school each day eager and excited about the process of learning.
My classroom is a productive and harmonious environment that serves a diverse array of students with a range of exceptionalities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
My Project
School supplies and classroom materials are an essential part of the academic experience. Pencils, crayons, scissors and folders are essential for daily use in my classroom. My students enter new grades eager to learn new information and gain knowledge though new experiences and although back to school is a very happy, hectic and exciting time of year, it is also one that is financially demanding for the families of my students.
Obtaining all of the needed materials through this project will lessen the financial stress of my students' families and better allow for them to prepare for the exciting year that lies ahead.
The materials of this project will allow all of my students the ability to actively engage with their learning by having all of the essential supplies readily available in their classroom to be most successful.
