My students need extra attention when it comes to reading. It is my goal to really work in small guided reading groups in order to give the students the help they need when reading.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My group of fifth graders are very motivated and hardworking students. They sometimes need an extra push but when they receive the attention and the supports, they show their true creativity and excellent drive to complete their work to their fullest potential. It is evident that they do their best each day and they truly aim to please. Many of my students have different needs when it comes to learning; therefore I try to use a variety of manipulatives that will help motivate them even further and make their learning process easier.
It is evident that my students enjoy coming to school and enjoy completing assignments and projects with their peers.
By providing them with extra materials and supplies my students will truly soar to success. It is important to me to give each of my students the attention they all deserve and provide them with materials that will hopefully encourage them to always try their hardest.
My Project
My students are in need of these reading materials and organizational supplies in order to benefit their learning and our classroom atmosphere. .
Allowing my students access to these materials will allow for a successful, smoother school year with many different learning materials to assist the children while they are reading and working in small groups.
The Wood Adjustable Literature Organizer will be used as a mailbox for the students. Each child will receive their own compartment that will be used to store all their materials in order to keep the classroom organized and allow for them to not lose any of their important items. The Pencil Pouches will be used as another form of organization inside the classroom. Each child will be assigned a specific color. Inside their pencil cases will be seven pencils for each week. Based on their color they will have a designated day to sharpen their pencils in the morning that way the children are not getting up to sharpen their pencils throughout the day. Because of this, students will always have a pencil ready if another one breaks, and they will never lose any of their pencils because they will each have a home for them.
On top of organizational items, I am also asking for Fluency Cards and Reading and Responding Cards. These items will be used in the morning during morning work and small group guided reading time. This will help to focus in on each child's reading comprehension. During this time, I will also be using the Portable Easel in order to make learning more hands on and visible for each child.
My students will be extremely grateful for all of the help and support in receiving these items!
