This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very enthusiastic and dynamic. They very much benefit from hands on learning and when they grow in confidence they come up with very thoughtful questions.
My students love experiments and working together to solve problems and work through the scientific method.
Continuing to learn through different hands on activities is very beneficial for them as lifelong learners. I hope that the more they experience STEM projects in a hands on way the more they will be able to apply themselves. Once they are able to do that then they will find more joy in what they are learning and doing and hopefully find a career in science in the future.
My Project
My students use glue and scissors everyday to take notes in their interactive notebooks. Currently they are running out of glue very quickly and their are barely enough scissors to go around.
This is an everyday activity and all materials are shared between six classes.
My students would really benefit from these supplies so that they can continue to take these notes. It will benefit approximately one hundred and twenty students.
The lessons I teach have notes involving cutting out notes and prompts, gluing pieces into a science notebook, and then taking notes making the notes more creative and interesting.
