This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a class of 11 students with a range of disabilities. My students all come from low-income homes and many of them have moved around to different schools in order to receive adequate services and schooling that are essential to their academic and cognitive development. At this point, my students have arrived in high school where they will complete their academic career. Our school is a great school that serves a great and hardworking community but is overcrowded. As result, supplies are sometimes scarce. My students have a thirst for knowledge and desire to learn and it is a privilege for me to work with them.

My students have a range of disabilities and they have overcome cognitive and health issues to arrive at this milestone in their lives and academic careers.

They all have a thirst for knowledge and it is my duty to provide them with as much information as I can before they go out into the real world. My students did not choose the cards they were dealt, but they have definitely made the best of it and I'm lucky to work with them.

My Project

My students need a variety of classroom supplies that include arts supplies like clay and paints for art period. They need markers, pens, pencils, and notebooks to use during English, Math, and Science. They need organizational supplies like pencil boxes to help them stay organized.

These supplies will allow my students to stay organized and create the best possible work.

I give students new homework folders and other school supplies very often and the supplies run out throughout the school year. Glue sticks are used on projects throughout the year. Pencil boxes will be kept on student desk for supplies such as pencils and erasers. Markers would be used for math, reading, and even during center time. With your support I can provide students some of these basic school supplies to help them succeed!
