My Project

It's that time of year when supplies are getting low but the need is extremely high. This is the first year I have felt the impact of a changing economy as it relates to my students and their supplies. It has become evident that a lack of headphones, pencils, folders, dry-erase markers, erasers, and much more can have an effect on daily learning. I am a firm believer in having the proper tools (supplies) to be successful. Hence, why I am soliciting your help in giving my students the tools they need.

My students are enthusiastic learners in need of supplies to continue being successful in the classroom.

One major item needed is headphones for the one-to-one Chromebooks that our district has supplied. Headphones enable students to independently work online through assignments that may require videos to be watched. They are also beneficial for many of our students who are reading below grade level and often need assignments to be read to them. Along with headphones students are in need of pencils, erasers, highlighters, and dry-erase markers to complete daily assignments. As an educator, I realize how much students enjoy using dry-erase markers which is why I often allow them to write on their desks or tables when we work in small groups. To say to a kid, yes you can write on your desk and to see their face light up is one that truly warms my heart. Utilizing unconventional strategies to relay content has been one way I've encouraged struggling students to be engaged in their learning.
