I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
The majority of my students come from Hispanic and Marshallese backgrounds.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are the most well-deserving, appreciative people that I know. I consider myself the lucky one to get to be their teacher!
Kindergarten students learn best by doing hands on activities throughout the day! We need the dominoes, unifix cubes, dice and cards will help with counting, but they can also form letters with them! The markers, glue, calendar and alphabet chart will help with writing, and learning to read!
The supplies that we are asking for will help my students with math, reading and writing.
We are a high poverty school and the families can't always buy everything that is needed in the classroom for their children. This will help take the burden off the parents and ensure success for the kids!
