Many of my students come from families who are in the midst of financial hardships, and because of this, all students in this school are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. It is my ultimate goal as a teacher to provide them with as many opportunities and as much support in the classroom as I can.
My role as a kindergarten teacher is to love my students first and teach them second.
In my classroom, we learn through social-emotional learning, we support each other, we celebrate the little victories, and we keep our heads held high when life gets tough.
My students have proven to me how resilient they can be and how they can make the best of whatever hardships get thrown their way. Financial support for my students will, not only relieve some of the burden from their families who already struggle financially, but it would also allow me to be able to provide them with the necessary learning resources that they need and deserve.
My Project
My students have been working hard this year! They have been growing academically, as well as socially. With all the hard work we have been doing, we have quickly been going through many of our supplies and materials. Some of those materials have been in my classroom for years.
I want my students to be able to have new, properly working supplies and materials.
New materials so that, the old pair of rusty scissors won't delay their project, the unusable white board marker won't hinder their math, and the dried up glue stick won't prevent them from creating beautiful works of art.
