Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from low income/high poverty areas around the City of Boston. They range from eleven to thirteen years of age. More than half are English language learner students with special needs and many have learning disabilities.
These children are enthusiastic, energetic, and curious, and have dreams of a bright future.
It is our job to help get them over some of the hurdles they will face in order to become our successful future leaders. We need your help. It takes a village and I would love it if you would join ours.
My Project
Our special education and second language learner students will all benefit from a projector through multi-sensory learning. A projector allows teachers to use images to help connect words and thoughts while assisting students to acquire deeper meaning. Also, our low-income families struggle to afford everyday classroom supplies for reading and writing such as notebooks and pencils.
By donating to our project you will help to increase academic achievement for so many students in need.
The supplies I have listed are items we need in our classroom to start our new school year out on a positive note. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. Our future leaders will truly appreciate it, as will all of our school community. Thank you.
