Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are great kids! They have a lot of "life" to deal with everyday, yet they come in with smiles on their faces. Our students have struggles at home as well as academically. Westside is part of an urban school division. Westside ES is a Title I school. All our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the hurdles that they face everyday, they are a great bunch of students to work with!

My Project

Our school provides 100% free breakfast and lunch to our students. Our families are not financially able to provide the essential supplies needed for student success.

Pencils, markers, colored pencils, post-it notes are the fundamental supplies that every student needs for success.

The students at Westside should not have to worry about supplies, their concern should be on their learning!

Having these basic supplies will allow students to actively participate in their own learning. I have supported my students with their basic material needs but can not keep up with the demand. With lack of funding from the school and rising costs, my student need your help!
