Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are energetic 6 and 7 years olds who come to school every day eager to learn! They are funny, spontaneous, and very clever. There is never a dull moment in our classroom. They love to participate in hands-on, engaging lessons and activities that allow them to discuss their new-learning with their peers. Oh how they love to share!
Our school is a low-income, Title I public school, where just over 99% of our students are on free or reduced lunches.
They are faced with many challenges in and outside of the classroom. Many of them receive very little support or assistance from home when it comes to academics. But my students do not let their challenges stop them. They still come in each day ready to absorb the day's lessons.
I strive to make my classroom an inviting, safe, nurturing, and engaging place for them to learn. It is important to me that all their needs are met during the school day. Your generous donations can help make this possible.
My Project
My students are in need of basic school supplies to start the school year off on the right note. Many of my students come to school with little to no supplies. It is important to have supplies to complete assignments and projects that we will be working on, beginning with the first day of school and throughout the year.
Every student should have what they need to be successful.
I don't want any child to ever hang their head with embarrassment because they weren't able to bring supplies.
The binders will be used as "Take-Home" binders for behavior charts, homework, books, flashcards, etc. These binders are more durable than folders, and will hopefully last throughout the year. The folders will be used to store and organize the students' work for Writing, Seatwork and Center Activities. The page protectors will be used to protect high frequency word lists, and other resources inside of the take home binders, as well as classroom folders. The glue sticks, and scissors will assist with basic assignments and projects. These supplies will definitely ensure that our year starts with a bang! Your generous donations are greatly appreciated!
