My students are bright, innovative and very capable of learning! I am so excited to be teaching them ELA in September!
My students LOVE to move, which makes it seem like they don't love to learn but that is just NOT true!
My students just need the ability to move while they are learning!
Having the ability to move and grove while we are talking about plot development or characterization actually makes the learning process more engaging and much more rememberable to our students! Also being able to touch and feel is so important to them!
My students are strong and extremely capable!! But my students also come from low-income households which means that they don't always have the supplies they need to be successful inside a classroom. Our students struggle to obtain pencils, pens and notebooks and they should not be held accountable for that struggle.
A student being able to afford a pencil should not dictate whether or not they succeed within a classroom!
Having supplies on hand ready to go, takes the pressure off my students and allows them to focus on the classroom! I would rather my energy and my students energy go into learning and developing their social-emotional skills then worrying if they have a pencil for class.
