My students need the basics to start the school year such as storage container bins for manipulatives, materials for binding our handmade books, bright colored paper and basic supplies such as highlighters, Sharpies and tape.
My students are enrolled in an Intergrated Co teaching (ICT) classs. This means we have students with disabilities learning alongside their general education peers. I taught my students in Kindergarten and have been given the opportunity to teach them in first grade ! My students try their best each and everyday to meet their academic goals. I am very excited to work with my students again during the upcoming school year.
My students attend a Title 1 funded school in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood in Brooklyn.
Our community is very diverse and many backrounds and languages are represented in our school.
My Project
We are so excited for our upcoming school year. I am requesting basic supplies to help get us started. I am requesting storage containers and bins to organize classroom manipulatives and student materials. I am also requesting an assortment of classroom supplies such as bright colored paper, highlighters, Sharpies, rubber bands, command hooks, chalk tape and double sided tape. In first grade, we have to label everything from our books, to folders to our writing assessments. The neon and white labels along with the dry erase tape will make it easier for everything in our classroom to be labeled with each students name. We sure do a lot of printing in our classroom. The bright paper will be used for notes home as well as for special student projects. Since storage can be an issue, we use command hooks to hang resources for students to access as they need.
Students require the basic tools for a foundation for a successful year.
I am also requesting refills of spirals and plastic covers for our book binding machine. Students take great pride in their work when we present their work like they are real authors !
