Every year, I get about 22 new seven year olds, fresh from their first grade summer and ready to take on their second grade year. And every year, my classroom looks and feels different because of the individuals that make it up.
My students come from within the 162 square miles of our district, but are each magnificently unique and different.
There's J. who comes from a farm family, loves horses, and could be the next president. She is brilliant, confident, and a gifted leader. There's M., who has bounced around foster families and struggles to come to school. But when he does, he learns quickly and loves to make people laugh. There's T., who's active, creative, and loves to draw graffiti on everything. And there's I.- avid reader, autistic, lives with grandma and sweet as can be.
Though the names are changed, these students are real and make up the special dynamics of our classroom. Every child is gifted in different ways and learns in different ways. But all of them are at the beginning of their unique stories and I value being part of each for a year.
With our new flexible seating, students travel from spot to spot and need a place to keep all their supplies as they do. These sturdy bags will hold their materials and help them stay organized throughout the day. Students will put their binders, pencil pouches, and notebooks in the bags. As they need the items throughout the day, they will be able to reach in the bags and grab what they need! This will keep their supplies and our room organized! We also use clipboards often in our classroom. We need a way to access them easily and a storage solution that will fit them. This clipboard storage will do just that!
These items will help make our new flexible seating classroom more organized!
