Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing group of 5th graders this year. They come in very curious and eager to learn. My goal is to engage their learning by providing them with hands-on experiences. Another way I support my low-achieving students is by modifying my teaching style to ensure that I meet their learning needs.

My students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 88% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

We provide Blessings in a Backpack to every student in the school. Every weekend, they take a bag of food home.

I'm always trying to find new ways to ensure that my students excel academically. They deserve the materials that will help to push them to reach their full potential.

My Project

We are still in need of back to school supplies to start the school year. Most of my students come from low-income households and are unable to acquire these supplies on their own so it is of the utmost importance that I am able to provide them with these supplies to guarantee their success in school.

With these basic classroom supplies, my students will start the year with the essential tools for learning in an organized classroom.

The rest of the supplies will be used to keep our classroom clean by using Lysol wipes to disinfect surfaces of the classroom that are often used during the school day. Students will use soft facial tissues to catch those coughs and sneezes to help reduce the spread of germs.
