Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title One school in Nebraska where eighty-eight percent of my students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Even though we live in the heart of America, we live in a community filled with vast diversity. Fifty percent of the students that attend my school are English Language Learners. My students consistently are fighting adversity.
I know that I cannot change what happens outside of my classroom door, but I want to be a light of inspiration for my students as much as possible while they are inside the four walls of my classroom.
I want to prepare capable and lifelong learners for the challenges and opportunities in their future. I want to do everything in my power to provide my students with the best learning environment that I can.
My Project
These materials will be used to motivate my students in doing their best. The prizes will encourage them to follow the expectations of the school! The candy will be used when my students do well on their weekly test or for great behavior.
The new book series will hopefully excite some of my readers into reading more!
The book series has been requested by many of my students. They will be excited to see it arrive in our 'NEW BOOKS' bin!
All of the new supplies will be exciting to receive. My students love when a new box comes into our classroom because they know that it always has something FUN inside.
