Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to school every day. I teach 24 wonderful and enthusiastic kindergartners. A majority of my students are English Language Learners, with Spanish or Vietnamese as their first language.
My school is a Title I school in California.
A full 81% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students may not have many material things, but they always try their best and never give up. They are hard workers, and I am so proud of my students!
My Project
Supplies are always needed in my classroom, more so towards the middle of the school year. I am requesting everyday school supplies such as Expo markers and large chart paper. My students love using the Expo markers for everyday writing and math activities because mistakes are easily corrected with a simple wipe. Before we used paper and pencil for these activities but I noticed that students get frustrated when they make mistakes because erasing takes a long time and a majority of the time papers get torn. Expo markers have become an essential learning tool in the classroom. The only problem is that they need to be replaced quite frequently. I am also requesting large chart paper for anchor charts and collaborative partner activities. Your donation to this project will help provide the necessary tools my students need to thrive in their learning.
