Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are such bright and talented individuals! They live in a low income area of North East Las Vegas where resources are limited, especially now. We have been doing distance learning and will most likely be continuing this into next calendar year. While the students try their best to be engaged and learn, oftentimes their lack of materials makes this more challenging.
Many students have expressed their lack of notebooks, pencils, and art materials for projects.
With this DonorsChoose project, I will be able to give students in need supplies to have fun completing their work and adding artistic flair to their projects.
My Project
While distance education has been a challenge, for many students a spark has ignited in them to put their best effort forward; however, many of my students simply do not have the resources at home to make this an enjoyable experience. Many students are having to take notes on their computers and are not able to do certain school projects due to the lack of supplies. At the very least, I wanted to ensure all students have the most basic supplies at home so they can write down information and create artwork for projects. With your donation, I will be able to provide my students with pencils, notebooks, colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, and a pencil pouch to stay organized. Help my students shine in this dark time.
