My students are juniors and seniors at a medium sized high school located near Pearl Harbor in Oahu. Over half the students receive free or reduced price lunches and about 15% are English Language Learners.
My students are very energized by labs (just yesterday an announcement that we would be doing a lab during the next class resulted in a big 'hurrary' from the class).
I want to maximize this enthusiasm by upgrading and expanding the labs that my class performs. The attached supplies will make sure that I will be able to continue these fun labs and hopefully expand into new labs.
My Project
The most enjoyable labs and projects in my Science classes need some additional supplies and replacement. I like to do labs every 1 to 2 weeks and these items will help greatly to reach this goal.
The lights for the two class aquariums have stopped working so I am requesting two lights and a plexiglass sheet for the cover.
The current supply of prepared microscope is limited so I would like to get two additional sets. Some additional kits and lab idea books are included to add new labs to the class (I am always looking for new lab ideas to keep the classes exciting). Thes items should keep my science students engaged for years to come.
